This border is easy to lay, can also be cut to measure with commercially available circular saws and results in a nearly entirely closed surface, i.e. no gaps between individual elements.
The border provides an optical delineation of the riding floor but, much more importantly, it prevents the tread layer from “drifting”.
The rounded sides significantly reduce the injury hazard for horse (e.g. at the fetlocks) and rider (e.g. when falling off).
The inside is hollow and can be used for installing cables and irrigation systems.
Very important:
The border is always laid ON TOP of the mat because otherwise the drainage effect of arena matting system would be inhibited.
